I was curious, if I get a license from another part of New York State, would it be valid in New York City?

AP 5:39 a.m. CT, Sun., Nov . 22, 2009
"HILLSBORO, Ore. - A gunman fatally wounded a passenger in another vehicle at an Oregon intersection Saturday, setting off a police chase that ended when the suspect crashed and was killed by officers, authorities said.
The passenger, 56-year-old Danny K. Le Gore of Hillsboro, was rushed to a local hospital where he died. Police did not immediately identify the gunman.
Police initially called the violence a road rage shooting that followed a traffic altercation, but later they backed away from that report.
Hillsboro Lt. Henry Reimann said it still wasn't clear what happened at the intersection, and information from witnesses hadn't clarified the incident.
Apparently a ‘random act of extreme violence’
But he said it appeared that the gunman opened fire on the Le Gore vehicle as it was moving, pumping at least six rounds from a handgun into it.
"It appears that this victim had no... [Read More]

New Here, need carry help |

I'm new here, but I've owned guns since roughly the age of 12. Got into pistols 3 years ago, with a Ruger Vaquero. Got my CHP 2 years ago and started carrying a 5 shot Iver Johnson 32 ACP that I picked up for just under $100. It conceals very easy with or without a holster, but it is a piece of JUNK. Goes boom every 3 to 4 out of 5 trigger pulls and you can feel debris coming back at your forhead almost every time...
I now have 9mm Smith and Wesson Sigma SW9VE that I finally figure out how to hit the target with and want to carry. I also have a cell pal holster cell pal that may work if I buy pants just 2" bigger and a sturdier belt, but because of my legs being thicker... [Read More]

Nevada's permit has on the back each individual pistol your able to carry by make model and caliber except for revolvers where if you qual with one you can carry any revolver. I just put in for a PA non resident permit so I can carry in NC where NV doesnt have reciprocity with. A PA permit I dont believe has the same rules as to what pistols you can carry so I would be able to carry any pistol in the states PA has reciprocity with and only the pistols that are specified on the back of the NV permit in states NV has reciprocity with correct?

Florida not honoring SC?????? |
|
Nov 21, 2009 - 9:23 PM - by REVMAN

A friend of mine took his CC class today in SC and one of the students said he had just read that Florida was going to stop honoring SC's CWP. The SLED Agent that was giving the class said he had not heard anything but said that he wasn't sure. I asked my friend if this student said where he heard it, but he was not sure if the student said. I hope he misunderstood what he read. Has anyone here heard anything about this?

CC at work??? |

OK, here is my question. I looked up the firearms policy for my job (very large organization) and it basically said that Firearms and weapons are prohibited on all company property unless written permission is given by the head of security (whoever that is) and in accordance with the law. There are NO signs posted anyplace (a requirement in FL) that prohibit the carrying of firearms and I would be within the law since I have a permit. I briefly chatted with a coworker in another state once about it (he has a permit too and carries) and he said that it isn't breaking the law and the policy is unclear so it is nobody's business and keep quiet.
I have not yet bought one, but want to get an LCP and I could easily keep this in my pocket without anybody ever knowing it is there. I work for a very large corporation that is fairly unpopular in the press and public opinion and I can easily see some nutjob coming in and trying to shoot up the place and of everyplace that I...
