so she runs thru a few magazines sig 250 , and the p11 , had canon
does great , just too much noise on range steps out
i start to re load , this is where the brain fart comes in .....
after reload pull the trigger on the 250 , very quiet , solid hit , fte ??
lay her down range give it a min , - the mag had been dropped , eject the spent round , cracked jacket ????
ro is behind me , dealing with the gallery of 5 next to me , he was like never seen that before .... did it damage your gun ? ( which i really thought was amazing question , kind of like if its our fault we will take care of you ,
i do a quick field strip , alls well - try again , again , good hit , very soft fire .......

so how i had loaded 9mm in the .40 .........!!!!!!
i know , i know , only excuse is what was goning on around me , not an excuse .....

any who , crzy thing is shot straight , almost like a silenced weapon , with fte ...

Glad you and your weapon were unhurt! Mistakes happen

Could have been a lot worse...no injury, no problem...good lesson on double checking.

Wow, I didn't realize that this was possible! For 1, wouldn't the 9mm round travel past the chamber? 2 Woldn't the firing pin strike outside the primer (if it hit the round at all)? Wouldn't a firing 9mm round make a bigger bang then the reported "almost like a silenced weapon"?

Not calling you out, Yeti, seriously didn't realize that this was possible.

Very strange... Although I have learned in nearly 40-years of shooting, that anything can happen with a firearm and I mean anything!

The only important is that an accident did not happen.

I'll vote with the anything can happen crowd. One time, I'll never know how, I had a .40 load in backwards. At least nothing went boom when the firing pin
hit harmlessly in the center of the hollow point. After that incident, I'm with Saber. Anything can happen.

Funny thing is the sig popes the 9 mm on aim , and silent ,
guess the amo fed the sig center struck , twice , in fact ,
crazy , quiet as a mouce and on target !

    2 lessons learned ....
Check my head ...and when down and out , one 9mm at at time MIGHT get ya thru on a .40 ?? ..?

    Any one else run a 9 thru a .40 ?

I know .and thanks I'm ok , baby girl is ok , and so is the sig !

not worried about a call out !
Double checked the 9mm Luger will not feed down the .40
it hangs up . Center strike ,
on another note after seeing the glock kaboom ...
Not sp sure if it was a lesser make of .40 ( sig) or any other well made pistol
could have gone a really bad direction !
I'm calm but thinking about what could have been and will make a huge differance in not only my mind set but also the quality of guns I will spend my money on from this day forth

I have "heard" about someone firing "a couple" 9mm rounds out of a .40. But I wasn't there so I can't say how true the story is.

The messed up thing was they came to me bragging on how they could load 9 and 40 into the same gun!
