Who did he point it at?
It's generally not smart to wave a gun around, but he's in the middle of the woods with absolutely no one around (except the camera guy who obviously knew what was going on), and the gun was empty when he did wave it around. The magazine he loaded at the beginning was empty.
I don't condone this at all, but I've seen much worse gun handling.

you have some points but its not really ever ok to point a unloaded gun at anything you dont want to destroy

I'm not seeing where the AK is specifically pointed at anyone. All of the monkeying around () seems to be done on an empty chamber, and they are wearing ear protection for most of the shooting. You seem to be making a big deal over nothing.

This is the way I see this one:
Rule #1 - Gun is always loaded - they blew this one.
Rule #2 - Don't cover anything with the muzzle that you don't intend to destroy - yes, they appeared to be in the middle of nowhere, but a rifle has a long range. IMHO they blew this one, too
Rule #3 - Finger off the trigger until target is in the sites - could have been better, but OK.
Rule #4 - Be aware of target and beyond - did OK on this one.
So batting 0.500, OK if you're a baseball player, not so good if you are handling firearms.

I didn't even play the video. Assuming the rifle and costume are both authentic, that's enough for me. Looks like the beginning of a TV show that used to star Johnny Knoxville.
