Brother shoots and kills his teen sister in what police are calling an accidental shooting
Note that one of the comments is from Rick Ector. He's the NRA instructor who was part of this debate:

Or a gang banger who was jealous of a sister who made A list in school and seemed to be getting her life together.
That kid knew that pointing that weapon at her chest and pulling the trigger would do. There is no justice for this girl in a cover up....even if it was her brother.

“The gun
accidentally went off and hit her in the chest,” said aunt Charmaine Crowell.
People need to pick a new excuse such as the idiot had his finger on the trigger and pulled it.

Agreed. Guns don't "accidentally" go off. People carelessly shoot them. They go off because someone pulled the trigger.

As of right now they don't even know who owned the pistol, only that the police surmise that it was an illegal street gun.
At best the kid, and if it was a parents gun, both should @ the very least get Five years probation from this.

I've handled guns for about 50 years, and never had one "just go off", it was a conscious decision every time it went bang.

I've only been handling firearms for 30 years and have NEVER had one "just go off" either. That incident was just stupid.
Police do have the gun and tell 7 Action News that someone bought the gun off the street
I agree with Rick Ector's comment at the bottom of the story.
