Shooting Buddy Admits to Shooting 4 TVs!!!

I posted earlier about taking my son to a farm to shoot last Saturday. There we met up with his friend and his friend's grandfather; a guy I know personally.

I start helping him unload his range gear and in the back of the SUV is a TV with a bullet hole in the screen...

He tells me he was mad watching then President Clinton on TV and pointed his 9mm Baretta at the image and pulled the trigger. He thought the gun was unloaded.

He then drops the bombshell that this is the fourth TV he's shot!

I didn't ask for details on the other TVs, but it got me thinking that this guy either 1] has a really bad temper; 2] is really bad at gun safety or 3] is just a complete idiot.

I must say he was not unsafe while shooting and he did get after his grandson to be safe...

Now I have to admit there have been times I have wanted to do that…..
And I have taken some old ones out back to be used as targets…
But I have never shot one that was currently in service...

i could justify one as an accident or a laps of judgment but if its your forth time you should not have a loaded firearms in your proximity while in a house.

Bonehead, and dangerous. Who keeps an unloaded gun that close to them unless you are cleaning it? He thought.it was unloaded? I doubt it.

I'd say all kinds of things, but I think the OP speaks for itself. Not someone I'd ever want anywhere near me with a weapon.

I can't blame a guy that shoots at Clinton on TV.

Tell him is more fun, and cheaper, to use suction tip darts, if he can find them around. Cheaper, too.

Four emotion based (uhm) "accidental?" discharges like that? No. He is out of control.

BigJon, Considering the number of home invasions in the US, constant carry, even while home, is becoming more common, and makes sense.

My TV cost too much to want to shoot at it.

However, it's starting to get a little old, but the SO won't let me replace it because "you already have a big TV" and it "works just fine". I'm thinking a .40 caliber hole in it might make it work a little less "fine"

I would never go shooting with this person if I knew about his lack of self control. I do not believe I would even be around him due to the fact I couldn't trust him to remain in control.
