    Storing One's Firearms Loaded

A recent thread served as a reminder that this topic deserved Forum consideration.

I’ve noticed it before, mentioned within past Forum threads, that casual mention is made from time to time that some stow every gun they own in a fully loaded condition. I’ve personally encountered this among some few firearms owners through the years.

Do you store guns in a loaded condition that aren't dedicated for self-defense or varmint-control purposes?

Or, do you store every gun on the place fully loaded at all times.

A poll on the topic would be interesting. So would discussion on why, or why not store one’s firearms loaded.

I have more than one loaded gun in the house, but no loaded ones in the safe. If the gun is in a holster, it is loaded.

Some are, some aren't depending on if they're in the rotation.

If my handguns are loaded they are either in a holster or a separate safe in the bedroom. I don't store long guns loaded.

Carry and home defense guns are loaded; all others are unloaded.

Yep, carry guns loaded, others unloaded.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Y'all may consider that the dedicated self-defense firearms are "off balance sheet."

Don't count self-defense dedicated firearms as being stowed away. I didn't when I chose my answer to the poll.
