    Question Warning Shot?

Over the last couple of days I have read stories about people firing warning shots. Some of you are instructors or have been carrying for some time. What is yalls take on firing warning shots.

IMO I think warning shots are just a waste of ammo. If I need to pull the trigger it’s going to be to stop a threat not scare a threat.

Never , never, never. You are responable for what happens with every shot. Leave it for the movies

Absolutely NEVER fire a warning shot. The law typically requires the situation be absolutely unavoidable, with immediate threat to your life. A warning shot demonstrates that those conditions did not exist in your situation. The prosecutors will use that warning shot to put you in jail. If the situation is bad enough you feel justified in defending yourself, then defend yourself. "Warning" someone is not defending yourself. It's irresponsible.

It sounds like you already know the answer to the question.

If the threat is serious enough to fire your gun then it is serious enough to fire to stop the threat
