Walther P22? Short or long barrel?
Hey Guys,
I was looking at getting a .22 pistol for plinking at the range. I have a friend who wants to join me at the range and I would like to have something like a .22 to lend him so he can gain some confidance at shooting a pistol. Plus it's cheap on the ammo bill.
Does anyone have a Walther P22? What size barrrel is better? easier or funner?
Any feedback would be great.

Short...More closely resembles a defensive semi-automatic. Perhaps you can step him up to a 9mm later and begin his walk to drink the Glock koolaid...
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

I have them both and the longer one is more accurate and comfortable to shoot but the small one is more like something you would carry as a defensive gun so I guess its 6 one way half dozen another. You need to ask yourself if you want to plink as accurately as possible or not I guess.

I got the short one in black. I'll have to wait to shoot it though. That work thing is getting in the way of my hobbies.

get the long one, buy the short replacement barrel and the frame is convertible by just removing the last 1.5" of the slide with a allen wrench

We got the short one, with the intention of buying the longer one -- BUT the little thing is so accuate, we ended up never bothering getting a longer one.
