My father had carried a grudge with his sister for 15 plus years. She became gravely ill and knew she was going to pass. She sent word by others that she wanted to see him. He went after much deliberation and urging by me. He reconciled with her and was there when she passed. He seemd very much relieved when he did that. You did a mighty thing....swallowed your pride. Good for you.

Very cool. I lost my father 9 years ago. The last 2 years of his life we were the closest we've ever been.
Never been the family that hugged or told each other we love each other.
My wife made me do it, and everytime we visited I hugged him by and told him I loved him. (never regreted it)
Life is short my friend, too short.
You were a big man to make the first step!

I have to say I am proud of you, I know from personal experience it took alot of courage to make that call but in the end you will rest easier knowing you are the one that made the call. It was a big step and you at least put your foot in the door before it closed. Hope it works out well for the both of you.
