Tomorrow is going to be a rough day.

Well, as some of you know, I finally got a job offer, and it's taking me 750 miles from our current home. I should know my start day tomorrow. That's the good news.

The bad news is I still haven't figured out how to afford the move. Any savings we rebuilt is gone, and there is no relocation allowance.

SO..I have made arrangements to sell my guns. Again. It hurts worse this time than even the last time around because I had to work so damn hard to get them back last time. I will be left with one gun apiece for me and my wife.

Scary part is, it's just a drop in the bucket.
I'm conflicted. I have faith I'll find a way, yet I'm scared to death.

Anyway..just wanted to rant a little and let off some steam.

    Thanks for "listening".

Arko from what I've read about you, you seem to be a good strong person. You know I'm not into the faith or prayer but this little voice tells me you will do well. At times this little voice in my head shares its thoughts and when it does desire to talk to me it is rare that it is wrong.

So with that said I know things will go well for you and I hope you keep us updated. Things will get better in time. That little voice in my head has told me so.

    Thanks friend.

Can we get our little voices together so yours can convince mine?

Getting rid of your guns is tough but, you really only need one to survive. Just think, this move might be the best thing to happen to you since your family. Things are tough for a lot of people lately. You have to do what you think is the right thing no matter how difficult it seems. God Bless you and good luck!

PS. Just curious, where is the new move too?

What guns have you got, Arko, neighbor?

Maryland. Baltimore area. And I know you're right. The part BETWEEN here and there and figuring out how to pay for it is the hardest part!

I only had a few, but unless something falls through tomorrow, all are spoken for except a Ruger Mark II .22

Yeah, that is a drop in the bucket.

Seriously, godspeed to you and your family. It's beautiful country up there. You can make it there if you can make it there; and I'm sure that you can.

Every day I wake up I have the same feelings you do right now. Most of the time I put those thoughts to the back of my mind because I know I must do what I must to keep going forward. I fear the day when I wake up and decide not to do what's best for me and my family. That would be the day I cease to exist. Everything else is trivial. May God bless you on your journey.

Arko, How do you plan on moving your stuff in the back of a trailer or rental truck?

It's going to have to be a rental truck for anything we can't sell ahead of time or need to keep.

I'll definitely add you and your family to our prayer list. JD and I have moved several times in our lives together and we have been so thankful that each time the moves were paid for. Moving is hard enough without having to worry about money.

I'm praying the road goes smoothly for you and your family during this time.

    Thanks Lima.
I've moved a bit too, and am oddly at peace with all of this EXCEPT the money. I liked TN a bunch, but there is a whole lot more job security for me in a major triple-metro like Baltimore. Move feels right. Figuring out how to get the money to get there just makes me want to puke.

Do you know how soon you will make the move?
    What about housing?
