Prayers needed for one of my Capts
I returned back from a TDY and while still at the airport, my commander told me one of my Captains collapsed at work...symptoms of a heart attack. Turns out he had a congenital heart defect. He was rushed into emergency heart surgery last night and is now in recovery. I am still at the hospital while his wife was taken home to get some sleep.
He's only 32 yrs old--without any risk factors and recently maxed his PT test.

Prayers sent SIGguy.
God bless you for being there for his family!
Heart disease has no age limit.
I worked with a guy back in the '80's who was a Detroit Officer, Steve Zmick. He had a relatively easy beat, around the RenCen. He was Stressed out, and wanted to get out of there,(the force). A heart attack took him in his sleep. 36 years old.
I have often thought of Steve, and have recently heard stories from some of his other friends. Most recently I saw a note from one of his children. In it she said, "I really hope everyone knows that he was an awesome Dad, great husband, son, brother, friend, and police officer. They all have no idea how much he is missed, but I'm glad they still remember him." I can only answer "Yes we do
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Thanks everyone....
This was an undiagnosed heart murmur...and then on Tuesday, his aorta just let go. He was misdiagnosed initially, but went back on Friday after he wasn't feeling well...THAT is when they discovered the dissected aorta. It was a miracle he didn't die on Tuesday or at any time before the surgery. No. Kidding. Miracle.
He's been moved out of ICU and into the critical care unit.....now we're just waiting on the German doctors and American military doctors to figure out his discharge from the German hospital and get moved to the military hospital....
