Over these past months I was struggling to find a job that would suit me well. From mid-summer of 2009 until about the end of August of this year 2010 I thought I would never find light at the end of the dark tunnel. Many of you are probably aware that I have a long term physical disability that prevents me from doing many things that I want to do.
Anyway onto the good news. I recently landed another job that I find particularly enjoyable and that's working for the local School District as a substitute teacher assistant. I basically help teachers who don't have a full time TA in their classroom and I help students when they need it. I find being with students, especially those at the elementary level to be quite enjoyable. I also found out today that my Social Security Disability Income is approved and I'll start receiving monthly payments starting November. My goal for next year is to move out of my parents house and into an apartment of my own.

That's good to hear. Life is always good compared to the alternative. I'm so happy things are working out for you. Making new goals means you're headed in the right direction. Let nothing stand in your way. You have my blessings this day.
Congrats Sub. Things seem to be looking up. Glad to hear your benefits were approved...that is not an easy mountain to climb. Also glad to hear you are enjoying your new position.
Great news... Now if life throw you another curve ball dont let it get you down just say I handled worse than this before and turn it around.
Glad we have another positive, uplifting story in B&T's place!
That is really cool that you are working with the elementary kids, that is not always an easy task, as I can attest, I have a first grader!
Sometimes the things we believe we need the most, seem to take too long in getting here, but oftentimes when they arrive, they are cherished more. Enjoy life !!!
