Congratulations. I can't wait until I'm at the point where I'm on an indefinite enlistment.

I just have a question. For us (USAF) we only have the option of enlisting for either four or six years. If you have seven left, how can this be your last enlistment? Do they allow eight year enlistments in the Army?

Sorry to hijack the thread and congratulations again.

I continue serving until I stop making adequate progress (RCP or MYOS), get too old, or apply for retirement. In my case, it's probably going to be 24 years of active service, but 26 if I get promoted (not likely), or 29 if I make SGM (flee for the hills if that happens).

I could have done between 3 and 6, but I will not realistically qualify for any further incentives if I do. Authorization for this contract took me ~6 months (I'm a special case, they normally only take a day or so) and I don't want to have to deal with it again.
