I know what they are going through, I lost my first daughter, Tammy, at 2 years and 9 months, autopsy did not show what she died from, they put interstitual pnumonitis (Spelling?) on the death certificate, but the ME told me that is not what killed her, it was the only thing that they could find. Sometimes you never get a good answer.

Add my prayers for your friends. What a terrible decision to have to make. May God bring them comfort in spite of this tragic event.

Just a sad and horrible ordeal for any family to endure. To slip away like that in one week on such a young child is such a traumatic thing to witness for any parent.
I hope you will express the condolences of your friends here at DC.com to the family.
Prayers sent for this grieving family.

How horrible for the parents. I pray I never have to make that decision. Hopefully they will see God's plan in this, there has to be one somewhere.

My Heart is overwhelmed with sorrow.
as well as this small message/prayer , which was given to my father and mother, by the Dear Sisters @ Saint Mary's Hospital, in Saginaw Mi. when they made a similar decision with my 13 year old brother in 1975.
It gave us a unique perspective, in dealing with his death.
My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me;
I may not choose the colors,
He knows what they should be;
For He can view the pattern
Upon the upper side,
While I can see it only
On this, the under side.
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow,
Which seemeth strange to me;
But I will trust His judgement,
And work on faithfully;
'Tis He who fills the shuttle,
He knows just what is best;
So I shall weave in earnest
And leave with Him the rest.
At last, when life is ended,
With Him I shall abide,
Then I may view the pattern
Upon the upper side;
Then I shall know the reason
Why pain with joy entwined,
Was woven in the fabric
Of life that God designed.
God Bless their Family.

My prayers go out to the family.
As someone who has lost a child I understand the pain and helplessness they are feeling. While the pain never completely goes away, in time it lessens and you remember the good times.
