NO ONE , should take the OP"s post lightly
a friend of mine (42 yrs old, never been sick, perfect health and shape) ... went for 2 weeks trying to "shake" the flu, and it wasn't going away. He finally decided to stay home from work the 3 days before Thanksgiving, essentially giving him a week to get bed rest and get over it . The 2nd day, his mother could not get ahold of him, so they went over there. He was found in a coma, and taken by ambulance to the hospital. Two days later, same situation.... so on Thanksgiving day the life support was disconnected.
In his case, they treated him with complete "quarantine" ... no one handled him with out full suits, room was totally disinfected, etc. Even people at the mortuary had to wear full suits. They had tested and tested him and never could identify the "flu" or what it was..... but exactly the same thing happened to him. All they knew was , it started like the flu, then into the glands in the neck, and from there went right up and into the brain.... causing brain swelling , etc.
I've known of other cases that have happened as well. Don't "assume" it's the normal flu, and don't let your Dr disregard everything too easily either.
