Not a Good Day
Just received a phone call from my folks that my younger brother Pat committed suicide. He has had trouble with substances off and on over the years, but this was totally unexpected. My parents had no idea that he was even contemplating such an act.
My older brother was killed in a construction accident 4 years ago, so now I am the only surviving child. Needless to say, my parents are devastated.
Pat leaves behind a 17 y/o daughter who graduated high school at 16 and started college. He was estranged from his ex-wife and daughter and didn't get to see Britney a lot. Maybe that played a part in his decision, we'll never know.
So the wife and I are headed to McGuire AFB to catch a hop to Travis and drive from there to Southern Oregon.
Thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated.
Mike

Very sorry for your loss.

To make matters worse, my parents house burned down a few months ago so they lost all pictures, etc of both my brothers. They are definitely going through a rough spot.

My sympathy to you and your family.

Prayers sent for both of your brothers, your family and you. If you have any photos, you might get them copied and give them to your parents.

Mike, There is nothing any of us can say that will really help ease the pain you and your folks are going through. Just know that there are some of us out here praying for you all. God bless. May you find comfort even in this terrible storm.

Praying for you and your family.

Mike,
I got nothing;
But this,
In times like these when things just do not seem to make sense, this has helped my family in times of trouble.
Prayers sent,
Take care of your family; Mom ,dad ,niece etc,etc,,,,,,,
The Weaving
My life is but a weaving
Between my God and me;
I may not choose the colors,
He knows what they should be;
For He can view the pattern
Upon the upper side,
While I can see it only
On this, the under side.
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow,
Which seemeth strange to me;
But I will trust His judgement,
And work on faithfully;
'Tis He who fills the shuttle,
He knows just what is best;
So I shall weave in earnest
And leave with Him the rest.
At last, when life is ended,
With Him I shall abide,
Then I may view the pattern
Upon the upper side;
Then I shall know the reason
Why pain with joy entwined,
Was woven in the fabric
Of life that God designed.
"When you were born you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so
that when you die you are smiling and everyone around you is crying."
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

I am very sorry to hear of this, and you and your family are in my thoughts.
Please consider encouraging his ex-wife, and his daughter to seek professional counseling, and taking advantage of grief counseling yourself, as well as for your parents. Your parents must be crushed. Be strong, Mike.
