Scotty had his Neurosurgeon appointment Thursday morning and it went well. Most Docs don't believe that arachnoid cysts can cause pain and problems and we were afraid that would be the case with this Doc. We were pleasantly surprised to find out from him that he believes it is the cyst causing the pain and problems. As he said and as we have said many many times, the fact the pain is located right where the cyst is seem much too coincidental.
He will be having an MRI on the 3rd of June, and then a Neurologist appointment after that. The thought process being, before we resort to brain surgery, we should try every other treatment available to try to control or eliminate the pain first. That is great! We are not in love with the idea of having our 9 year old have brain surgery. But if nothing else works, then we will do that.
The headaches continue. Sudden onset ones are the worst. We are very happy to be on the way to a resolution hopefully.
One unfortunate aspect of this treatment is, it will probably be a few months before we really have a resolution. And just this week, i got a call from a potential job back home in Memphis. I did do a phone interview with them and they really liked me and wanted to fly me down for a face to face interview but, i had to turn that down and take myself out of the running for it since Scotty's treatment will be somewhat drawn out and i do not want to start over with new Docs. My son is far more important than a job and possible move back home. It will always be there, we need to get him healthy first.
Thank you for the prayers and as before, their continuation would be greatly appreciated.
