I got a job as a Nurse!
Well, years of hard work and studying have finally paid off. I graduated this May, became a licensed RN this June, and starting July 25th I will officially be working as an Oncology nurse at Gibbs Cancer Center located at Spartanburg Regional Hospital. I am so excited to be going into this field and to be working in this specialty.
Sincerely,
Murse Jeremy Colyer

Congratulations!! There's still a big shortage of nurses in this country. It's a challenging, but very rewarding profession.

Congrats! An RN can totally change the whole outlook and dynamic of a patients stay. Let's face it, you hardly get to see the doc, it's the nurse that you rely on. Very under appreciated job for quality/caring RNs. Congrats again!

WOW...I was about to change the title thinking it to be a spelling mistake. I'm glad I read through the whole thread.
With that being said...CONGRATS!

Congratulations. I know almost first hand how tough the schooling is and what kind of work you need to put into it. Oncology... wow. It takes a special person.

Hey man, congrats! I am a spine rep, have worked with the spine surgeons @ SRHS off and on for the past 7 years. Carrying in scrubs sucks but while in the hospital that is a non-issue anyway. Where and what do you shoot?

Cool job! I saw the work of a rep while watching hip and knee replacement surgery during my last semester in school at Mary Black. Yeah, I wish I could carry while in the hospital, but not an option. I carry a Glock 30, and shoot at the Gaffney range, as well as the American Legion range in Chesnee. I've also been out to the range towards Pauline (really nice range officer out there but they only allow pistols on Wed.) We should get together some time!
-Everyone else: Thanks! It was a hard journey, but rewarding. I am really looking forward to diving into this specialty that effects so many. My grandmother was a nurse in a small community in Alaska where I was born and raised. She died the year before I was born, and I still to this day hear of the impact she had on people's lives. She was taken by cancer. I feel it has come full circle, now I am a nurse, working on a cancer floor, hoping to help some extend their lives a further to have their own impacts and legacy.
