I wrote this for handlers that have lost their partners.
I am sorry for the pain that you are suffering.
There are no words that can be said that will ease that pain. For that I am glad.
If a few mere words could counter balance a lifetime, then that life had very little meaning.
But deep within ourselves, we know how meaningful this life was.
These dogs come into our lives, they become our trusted partner, confidant, therapist and friend.
Once again these are mere words that cannot do justice to the bond built.
When they leave us, it is always too early. Each of these dogs takes a piece of our hearts with them when they go.
However they leave a part of themselves within our souls. We are better people because of their gift to us.
The only offer that I have is that you are not alone.
Don't do things you don't want to explain to the Paramedics!
Stupidity should be painful.

Your post brought tears to my eyes. It reminded me of my Mercedes who past 7 years ago. She too was a GSD with the most loving disposition. My condolences to you and your family. I'm sure she will be missed dearly.
