Well,
Today was the day we had to put Mercedes (GSD in my avatar) down. We knew this day had been coming for awhile but that doesn't make it any easier. We have never had a dog that touched our hearts so deeply. She was my wife's constant companion and protector, and our grandson's favorite pillow.
I hope there are a lot of rocks for you to chew on Sadies.
You will be greatly missed, 11 years was not nearly enough time to have you in our lives.
So long girl.

I feel for you buddy, been there done that.
We had to put down our 15 year old German Shorthaired Pointer earlier this year.

Losing a beloved pet is a hard and painful thing. I'm familiar with the feeling and I'm sorry. Give it some time and then give another wonderful pet a home.

Sorry to hear this. That human/canine dog connection is so strong and magical. Maybe looking to other dogs for comfort is a good thing at a time like this.
I am so sorry to hear the news. It is never easy with a pet, but you are giving them your ultimate love. You are in my thoughts in a special way, because I have always enjoyed your posts about dogs, and we have a GSD too.
Thoughts go out to you. Our buddy Rocco has been gone for a year now, after 14 1/2 loyal years. I am just now beginning to look at getting another one.
I am sorry for your loss. I have 3 myself and had 4 last year. Its really hard because they are truly part of your family. No matter what you do to them they are always here for us and alwayyyyssss happy to see us. Maybe look at another one. Maybe rescue a pit???? Just saying. You will be in our prayers buddy!
