Huge scare this morning....
About 7:45 am this morning I was woken by my daughter screaming for me, bolting up stairs, I find her sitting in a plastic tote that holds x-mas wrapping stuff, she'd fallen into it. she says she doesn't know where she is and can't stand. I get her up and she then proceeds to go into a seizure. I race down to get the phone and call 911. As I am on the phone with them, she comes out of it, however we take her to ER anyway to get examined. We are now home and she seems ok at the moment. We will be going down to MUSC to see the pediatric neurologist this coming week. She's 9 years old, will be 10 in January. When she was 4 yrs old she had a seizure which led to 2 weeks in the hospital to treat the disease that was causing the problems. The disease, ADEM (Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis), causes the immune system to attack the myelin sheath around the brain. she lost motor skills and some of her vision, it was very scary. I am hoping that this isn't going to be a long term issue for her, but who knows at this point. So please pray for her, it would be appreciated.
