Farewell to " The Last Free Man in America

Gatewood Galbraith, a friend, patriot, and one of the few attorneys I have ever liked, passed away yesterday. He ran for Governor several times without winning, and had some controversial political views, such as the legalization of marijuana. However, that's because he always enjoyed a few tomes here and there I suspect.

However, he was a rabid advocate of gun rights, to the point of being considered radical by even some on the far right.
If you can Google his book, The Last Freeman in America, you will see him on the front cover, on a horse farm not far from my house holding an M60 machine-gun.

    Rest in peace Gatewood.

Sounds like Gatewood Galbraith was a friend to all of us whether we knew it or not; and we all mourn the passing of a friend.

Had a friend and didn't even know him, may he rest in peace, and hopefully someone will carry on his beliefs and fight like him.
And so when man and horse go down beneath a saber keen, or in a roaring charge of fierce melee you stop a bullet clean, and the hostiles come to get your scalp, just empty your canteen, put your pistol to your head and go to Fiddlers green. U.S Army Cavalry

Sounds like a larger-than-life character! Sad to lose such an independent thinker, and at far too young an age.

In the early 1990's, Galbraith and Willie Nelson took an historic trip across Kentucky in Galbraith’s red Mercedes Benz Station Wagon that they ran with hemp bio-diesel in order to make a positive impact on and spread the word about the potential of the United States’ bio-diesel industry.
Bet it wasn't just the Mercedes that was running with hemp!

Sometimes, it's people like Galbraith - clearly marching to the beat of a different drummer - who move us to analyze our own beliefs and mold ourselves into unique beings.
My oxymoronic thought for the day is "I love how independent Galbraith was and I want to be just like him."
