also, never forget, when you're in a position to recognize others for their exemplary actions... do so. never forget where you came from!

Very well done sir! Keep up the good work, out-perform them all and you won't be private for long. Hard work is the key and it sounds like you have the right ethic. And thank you for your service!

Great job! Thank you again for your service.
It's kind of like how some people have a sudden and insatiable desire to talk about vampires after the Twilight series became popular, except zombies are much less gay and more likely to exist one day

A one star as a battalion commander? What battalion?

Its kind of a weird situation. I'm at the Corp level (V Corp), and my section (A few hundred soldiers) within the Corp is commanded by a One Star. It's not precisely a batallion, since we're incorporated with NATO, in a joint headquarters, but its the closest thing. Being at a NATO HQ confuses everything...

Great job! The preparation and experience in those competitive boards will help your throughout your life. Nothing worth having comes easily; success come from seeking the challenge.

I have a great respect for those who answer the call of our great nation. I miss those active service days more than I could ever have imagined. It was not easy, but it it the foundation upon which I built my life.

Stay safe and keep being a great American.
