Death of a Hero of Heartbreak Ridge

I just learned that LTC (RET) Ed Kennedy passed away yesterday. He was one of my mentors both as a teacher and a coach and a Plt Sgt. Ewas a survivor of the real Heartbreak Ridge, he shared with me how it was when he took 55 men up the hill and came back with 5. He was an outstanding teacher who mentored me as a Civics teacher and did the same wih my sons. I've never met anyone with his knowledge of the Civil War. I will remember and honor him always. I'll see you at Fiddler's Green , sir.

    Semper Fi!

May he always have Fair Winds and Following Seas!

Just know that he, General MacArther and Chesty Puller are having a beer together, where ever they are...................................

To be a true leader and hero in hell, and then come back to the 'world' and function as a member of society, is to prove the true metal of the Man (and yes woman warrior). Not words but deeds!

Freedom doesn't come free. It is bought and paid for by the lives and blood of our men and women in uniform.

My condolences to you and your family. My son is in the Corps now and when I hear the stories of our battles of past,,,,I worry that we won't always have the quality and character of our past generations.

Semper Fi Lt. Colonel and may you enjoy seeing your men again.....
