East-bound on US Route 33 near Bellefontaine, Ohio, returning from a tire run to the plant in Roanoke, Indiana. Another trucker came across the CB and a plane had hit the WTC. I switched to FM and heard the report when the second one hit. Then, of course, came the other reports.

Sophmore year of highschool sitting in Mr.Fossberg's English class when an aid came in and handed him a piece of paper. He read outloud that an airplanes had hit the world trade center and the pentagon mentioning that it wasnt knows if it was an accident or not. About 10 minutes later the principal got on the PA and announced it was probably a terrorist attack, I'll never forget watching the replays of the plane hitting the tower in urban studies class (the classroom that had the TV cart).

Was in Algebra 1 at the local community college. One of the students received a text about the 1st tower falling, told the prof that his mother was up in New York and had business at one of the towers. He asked if he could be excused to try and contact her. We turned the TV, in the room, on to the news just in time to see the second tower falling. All classes were dismissed shortly thereafter.

I was at home and off work for my birthday which happens to be September 11th. I was in a chat room on the internet ,drinking my morning coffee when someone said that a report of a plane hitting one of the WTC towers was on the news.

I got off of the computer and turned on the TV, and found an early morning show with images of the one tower, smoke and fire comming out.

My home phone rang, it was my brother in South Carolina calling to wish me a happy birthday and we were watching the events on tv. He works for USAir at the Charlotte-Douglas Airport and had the day off as well. We then witnessed the second plane hitting the other tower.

The comments were like "did you just see that?" and his phone beeped. The Airport was calling him and he had to leave to go to work, they were calling all the employees to come in.

I spent the rest of that morning and day watching the horror. I just could not believe that what I was seeing was real, but it was.

Later that day, I finally got a shower and walked the short distance to a local Dairy Queen for a Blizzard, it was the only thing I felt could comfort me. A very nice African-American man was in line with me and we struck up a conversation about what was happening. I told him it was my birthday. He was a Pastor of a local church and left me with a prayer and before I knew it, he paid for the Blizzard with a big smile and hoped that things would get better for me.

That made me feel so much better even though it was a day of tragedy.

I was in a meeting at work, having a big argument over where to put some people and machines. I will never forget how insignificant that seems and how small I felt after the news came. We all stopped arguing and turned on the conference room TV. I can only remember how anxious I was to be home with my wife and make sure she was safe. God bless all those souls and those that bravely stepped forward in a time of crisis.

My brother runningone of my other location calls my father and myself and says " George was picking up my breakfast and saw a plane fly into the twin towers. So we put on the news and nothing. I call my brother back and saw was it a small plane of big plane. Oh it was a hugh plane and I can see the smoke from here.

So waiting for the news to come on. I turn to dad and say the sky is clear and now way could the plane not see the towers. Something is wrong. The news comes on and they and covering the story as the second plane hits the second tower. I turn to my father and say we are under attack and if they want to do major damage all it work take is a few smartly placed bombs inthe stairwells. I was not far off.

My Brother-in-law NYPD works in brooklyn and was directed into NYC and while directing traffic on the Brooklyn Bridge watching people jump fromthe towers.

Brother also NYPD spent few weeks at GZ throwing body parts into 5 Gallon Home Depot buckets.

Largest thing he found was a foot inside a sneaker cut of at the ankle. No computers, no desks, no nothing. Everything was destroyed.

Jr. high school, history class. We had a TV in every room for announcements and such. We were told to turn it onto the news. Got it on in time to see the second plane hit, if I remember correctly.

I had driven over to get a truck inspected and the mechanic told me a plane had hit a building in NYC. I went home, turned on the TV and that's when it all started.

For my wife, she was in a meeting at Bossier City, LA which happened to be near the end of the runway at BAFB. They knew about the attack and later on a giant rumbling and roar overhead was Air Force One passing right over them making their first stop after leaving FLA. Although it had a couple of fighter jets with it, IIRC BAFB sent out two A-10's to help in escorting Air Force One at landing.

At Fire Station #3 in Oxford, MS. I remember thinking "how the heck do you fight a fire that high up?" Then the towers collapsed.

I was at home when they hit, then went into work at my husband's business. Everyone just had the TV on back in the shop and not too much really got done. We went to the store early that afternoon and there was a thin man with a worried face at the checkout with a cart overloaded with packs of diapers. I guess he was thinking that we might be invaded and the world cast into chaos, but by golly, he'd have a few months worth of diapers, screw everybody else. I'll never forget that - how fast TS can HIT THE FAN and how I need to be prepared BEFORE it happens and the runs on the stores start.

I honestly don't remember all the details, but it was late 01 so I was a Junior in High School. Happened in the morning so I was still at school. The only thing I really remember is how mad I was that I couldn't leave school and go home. All we did was watch the news, I could have done that at home.

Sitting in my dorm room about to leave for class. Left for class thinking it was a fluke and then once I got to class they said a second plane struck and we were under attack. All classes immediately canceled. That was the defining moment in my life that brought everything into perspective with regards to my own patriotism, what our military does for us and the potential we still have as a country to come together at the most dyer or times.

I was in the Army at Fort Hood, Texas working on a direction finding/jamming system and listening to a local radio station for testing when the news broke in talking about the plane hitting the first tower. I didn't get much work done the rest of that day, just listening to the radio. Fort Hood went into immediate lockdown, no one in or out.
