Only one for now...a recent acquisition. I'm making a presentation today to all the tour guides explaining the significance of this plane...the original high altitude 'spy' plane, before the U-2.
Mmmm ... the Martin RB-57, perchance?

I flew the follow-on to that RB-57, the RB-57F. Our museum's recent acquisition is a British Canberra that flew the Project Robin missions. Our particular airframe is pictured at the bottom of this page: Project Robin

That would have been the air farce version SR-71. The originals were called "ox carts" and belonged to the CIA and were tested at area 51.

Things had a 16 stage afterburner and were cleared to 60,000 feet on takeoff. On the ground they leaked like crazy because at altitude everything tightened up.

Use to watch the non-existent ox carts take off from Okinawa. They are now de-classified. Great aircraft.

When I was stationed at Eglin we would have one come in for electrical test work, we always knew when it was coming in since every available drip pan on base was taken to King hanger.
