All my visitors today were former enemies...
I am a tour guide at a War Bird Museum. All of my tours today were to visitors who were former enemies...East Germany, Russia, Japan, and Czech Republic. Not an American in sight! Very interesting talking about our war birds from WWII and the Cold War, and of course, my activities during those times. (I flew 'spyplanes'). We're still friends.

Alright, LC ... which mug are you? Am assuming you're at the Valiant Air Command Warbird Museum.
Sounds like a lot of fun, helping folks to understand the history and utility of the great planes. Have been on a few "tours" myself. Haven't been to any of the ones along the Space Coast though.

Ahaa! For whatever reason, I had a niggling suspicion that might be the one. The guy in the photo just had that "knowing" look.
Looks like a wonderful place. The photo gallery shows a bunch of great birds, from the FA-18 to C-47, FAC's and reconnaissance (OV-10, OV-1), jets and props, MIGs and Messerschmitts. Any "spy" planes in the bunch?

That outside shot brings back memories, many hours working on Thuds and Phantoms.

I got to sit in the cockpit of an active U-2 (yeah still flys often) 3 weeks ago. What a great airplane! Did not put the suit on, just a tourist in the cockpit!
It always burned my britches in the '90s when the Soviet (oops, former Soviet.... yada, yada) inspectors would come over to make sure we were getting rid of 'our things' that went 'bump' in the night................
If you do not know where they are..... Yeah, they still fly and in the open...........

Did not see the Blackbird T/O and land at Okinawa or work in the BatCat hanger at Korat AB either.

Only one for now...a recent acquisition. I'm making a presentation today to all the tour guides explaining the significance of this plane...the original high altitude 'spy' plane, before the U-2.

I would have been forced to take them out one by one as they slipped out of the latrine.
Stashed their bodies neatly in the cloak room, and then showed my superior officer my handi-work.
I know they would have created a new medal JUST for me, called The silver purple bronze red rose star!, ....or something!
JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its funny how most regular everyday people are the normal ones, who just want a little prosperity, a chance to raise a family in peace and live out their live like that. Whereas the richer, more powerful people in a society or country wish to divide, conquer and rule.
Cool place to work at, I have been to Wright Patterson in Dayton OH a couple times and am just in awe when there.

They just wanted to see first hand what kicked all of their respective asses so royally.

I retired in 1966. On the day I retired, I got rid of my 3-piece suits, my wing-tip shoes, and my razor.
