Good news...kind of.
A good friend from church had a heart attack at church last night and he died...for a moment. Our Pastor, secretary and worship leader were there and they started CPR. Then the worship leader went and got a defibrillator that the church owns and shocked him. It worked and he came back to the land of the living.
It seems that the LORD isn't finished with him yet.
He's not out of the woods and he was taken to Pittsburgh to have a triple bypass on Friday. His name is John F. and he could use all the prayers he can get.
It is surely true that you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink. Nor can you make them grateful for your efforts.

Those defibs are a wonderful thing to have handy. We have them in all of our offices now and everyone has been trained on them.

I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

A relative is an ER/trauma nurse and has seen case after case in which someone on the "far side" has been brought back by concerted efforts of responders.

Prayers out but truthfully I thought you were setting up a joke at first and was waiting for the punchline.

What a joy to hear of this. I worked ambulance in the late 1970s - CPR was as intensive as we got. We would often arrive 10 minutes after the call was placed, only to find a dozen able-bodied folk standing round with their thumbs in their ears; never got anyone back. Well, I did start a heart once but only for a bit.
To hear of folks on the scene taking effective action - way cool. Please pass on my thanks and admiration to them.
Praying, of course.

Done and the lord shall lead his recovery. "Father I pray that you continue to heal this gentleman. I ask that you guide him so that he walks in your footsteps. I ask that he be a fisher of men. Father I ask that you comfort and provide for his family in this time of fear. I ask you grant him protection and saftey as he goes in for this operation. Father I ask for your hands of healing to be placed upon his body so that he may experience your care and love father. I ask that his faith in you continue to grow. I ask this in your heavenly name AMEN"
