Let me tell you a little story...
Last week, we went to a local gun store that is dedicated to sales to only LE/military personnel. We had purchased a couple of guns from them this year. It was on the day of their first annual celebration of starting the business. As part of that celebration, they were giving away some free merchandise. They also had some free cookies and the like! They were extremely busy, but they still welcomed my wife and myself by name. That makes me want to come by for all my purchases.
While we were there, looking for some shooting accessories, my wife wrote my name on a free raffle ticket. We bought some minor things like ear protection, but mostly just 'window shopped'.
This morning, I received a call from the shop. We chatted for a few minutes...and then they poppped the surprise. I had won the grand prize on their anniversary raffle...a Diamondback DB-15!!!! I had been bugging my wife about wanting an AR-15 before they were banned. Now I have the equivalent rifle. WHEEEEE!!!!!
Next step: Buy some ammo and extra magazines...
HA! The gun store was fresh out of mags and ammo. I went online...all the ammo was "temporarily out of stock"...even on <gasp> cheaper than dirt...
I guess I'll have to be content with field-stripping and cleaning the empty rifle for a while...That's ok...

Santa came early in Florida. Congrats.

Good "news" story. Merry Christmas from the LGS.
Americans understood the right of self-preservation as permitting a citizen to repel force by force
when the intervention of society... may be too late to prevent an injury.

You can find some ammo on Gunbroker but, you will probably pay out of the nose for it right now.

They have a lottery store?
I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Congrats on your good luck.....of course you know that since your wife filled out the raffle ticket, the rifle is really hers.

She says she doesn't want it. She loves her .22 carbine and her Sig P238 and my (now hers) old Colt Huntsman. We rented a Walther PPQ and she keeps telling me how much she liked that 9mm.
I think that means I get to keep the new .223...I hope...

PM me and I'll mail you some .223. I am in the process of building an ar-15 and all i have is the stripped lower. I have no use for the rounds right now and by the time I do I'll probably be able to get them. Unless of course I am not allowed to mail ammunition?

Thanks, but I found a local, very private, gun shop that has a few boxes at uninflated prices. I'm going there after Christmas.

I wish my wife and I were cool like that on guns!!! I can't get her to shoot any of my autos at all. She likes the oldschool wheelguns and wants a .44 mag sooooo bad.
