Thanks everyone. He already has a Ruger 10/22 that I bought for him the day after I found out my wife was pregnant. I just can't wait until I can take him out in the woods for walks and stuff. Yesterday we were watching some hunting shows together. He can't focus much past 12", but he was just starting at the TV wide eyed. He also likes to be put in his bassinette(sp) next to the fish tank (25-gal brackish) and watch the bubbles and fish.

Last night he was very good. Slept from 9pm to 1am without making a peep or coo. Then my wife took over and we had to wake him up for a feeding. She said he slept most of the night and woke up only a couple times for a diaper change (or "butt change" as she calls it). We are starting to learn his habits. He likes to camp out on her breast for a couple minutes, starts feeding for a couple, falls asleep, and starts over for a bit. Whatever. Keeps him happy.

He lost some weight in the hospital, as all breastfed babies do. He is on the gain again and yesterday was 5-12, so he is about a half pound lighter than birthweight, which is actually pretty good. He's such a peanut.

You will get as many different types of advice as the number of people you talk to, So I'll keep it short, "BABY EINSTEIN" start out with Baby Motzart. It should be rated from birth to 9 months or so. Our little guy loved it. The house was never so quite. FWIW

It's not about the caliber you carry, it's about how you USE it.

Mind you ''peanut'' has rather an appeal - love it. What a treasure.

    Way To Go!!!!

As fate would have it my wife gave birth to our son, Kenneth Patrick, on October 14th! I, like you, am also a 10mm shooter so there will be one in his future but the first thing he will inherit is the S&W model 60 my dad used for CCW as do I on occasion since he passed. Little Kenny will be the third Kenneth to carry that piece, all with differrent middle names, and I plan on having it engraved some before giving it to him. Nothing insane as first and foremost it is a carry piece and I don't want that forgotten.
