    My Tattoo

As some of yall know I lost my daughter in law a short while ago in a auto accident. Well about nine years ago I lost a very special great nephew who at two and a half years old was hit and killed by a car. This is my first and only tattoo, I've looked at some off and on for years but there were never any that I saw that meant enough to me to carry with me for the rest of my life. My son has several, and is friends with several very talented artists. Almost four hours under the needle. Ashley always wanted to be Dorothy in the Wizard of OZ. Dylan was such a happy and good little boy that was my shadow since he was a baby. I'll always miss them, but now I can always have them with me.

Wow Philip - that is a work of art!!

I have never yet gone for any tat's but that for sure is one heck of a good reason to have one. With you until eternity.

Chris theses guys here are not the usual flash artists. I takes several hours to draw up the design. the first one he drew last week I didn't care that much for. I got home around midnight last night. The colors will brighten up more in the next several days. It's already brighter than last night. Now my son has sleeves and thinking about leg pieces. Hey, it's him not me. The attitudes of people with tats are changing some. I may get one more of my Spider pistols. lol The artist that drew up the piece didn't do the work on me, he was tied up doing a friend of my son's that flew in to see him. She was there seven hours getting a butterfly and flowers on her back. This little lady is one tuff cookie, she's a RAVEN, that's a special security aircrewman. She's all girly girly until she puts on the gear. Shoots expert with all the firearms, pistol and rifle. Don't come near her plane if not invited. lol Ken Woods did my work, he's been at it around 12 years and can do it pretty fast. If someone less experianced did it, it would add a hour or two under the neddle.

A very nice additional way to keep the memory of the people you care about with you and a part of you always.

Lew - met a guy - Mike IIRC, at a big bike run in Sept - he is President I think of the PA tattoo association or some such and has travelled almost world wide it seems over time.

He is getting on now but a very skilled artist. Some of these guys amaze me with what they can achieve.

I never realized that there was so much involved in getting one and taking care of it. You have to keep it washed and moist with a baby ointment Phisoderm, until it heals. Then you put skin lotion on it. They have come a long way since the old flash and biker tattoo.

I think it's a wonderful memorial for your daughter and nephew.

That's a fine way to keep a memory around. Congrats on the artwork!
