    Oklahoma tornado outbreak

I imagine most people have heard about the outbreak of tornadoes in Oklahoma over the last couple days. Sunday was bad enough; several dozen were injured and two killed. Yesterday it got worse. The current official death toll stands at 51, but is expected to rise at least into the 90s, possibly further.

The real heartbreaker is that the storm hit two elementary schools where kids were sheltering. The last I checked, the death toll included 20 children of various ages, 7 of whom drowned in the basement of one of the schools.

Rescuers digging through rubble to pull kids out of the damaged schools:

It is heartbreaking to see such devastation and have to wonder why. We may never know the reasons. It seems as if places get more populated and a large tornado occurs, we have the massive devastation and death tolls of this nature. There are no words of comfort at a time like this.

All I can do is offer my prayers to a God that seems to be absent but in reality is always there no matter what, even in the most horrific of tragedies.

Prayers have been made to the Lord Our God for those that have lost their lives, those that are left behind and mourn, and those that seek to help all who have suffered because of this tragedy. May God bless, keep, watch over and help them one and all.

The official death toll has been lowered to 24 by the ME. They're saying they may have counted some twice in the initial confusion.

Thoughts are with the families, survivors. Tragic situation.

According to some estimates, it was an EF4 and 2mi wide with 200mph+ winds.
