    California bound...

They are called "orders" not "invitations"

After 3+ years in Germany, I'm bound for the land of fruits and nuts. My M4gery is going to have to stay with my brother (outside of CA)...and my Benelli M3 Super 90 will probably stay with another family member outside of CA.

I'll have a couple of pump action, lever-action, and bolt action rifles, and my Benelli Nova pump...plus my handguns (which are still legal in CA, as of this moment)...

But fortunately, this will be a two year assignment...

We leave Germany tomorrow, pick up a vehicle in VA and drive across the country...with my bride and two dogs...our boys are spending time with family and flying out to CA in mid-June.

Well welcome home SIGguy229! And FWIW, welcome to California when you get here as well. I know a lot of people don't like CA but hey, all the better if you can at least be in an area where the majority of the people have a clue. Best of luck to you sir! Hope you're able to make the best of your time spent here and all works out well for you.

Sorry to hear of your deployment; going from Rag-a-stan to Mexi-a-stan! However if you wish to have your firearms closer, I'll store them in our safe and you can come to Vegas and shoot them! You'll need to furnish the ammo!

Look on the bright side, for a $50.00 background check you can get a ID to buy ammo in Mexi-a-stan!

PM me if you need storage.

And if memory serves me correctly, you were to be stationed away from the cannon fodder(larger cities), and in one of the "more gun friendly " environment's out there.

Good luck, and welcome back stateside!

Best of luck to you and yours in your new home. You made it back to the states....that's really all that matters. Even if Cali is a socialist republic....it has other things to offer (last I knew). Ocean instead of desert, redwood trees, etc.
    Indeed....welcome home!

Welcome home. I had family traveled a similar route; Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, Germany, WA State, back to Saudi Arabia and then finally CA. "Join the Army, see the world!" I told my cousin I'm holding a place for him and his girls in Alabama.

Plenty of decent pro-gun counties, in the state. The county sheriff in your county of residency will decide to issue/decline. Hopefully you'll be stationed at a spot near enough to pro-gun spot. A CHL should be straightforward, then. (Be polishing up your "justifiable need" statement, qualifying what possible reason you could have to be issued a CHL.)

Welcome back to the good ole USA! California is beautiful and I know you'll enjoy living there. When you go home to visit the family you can get in lots of range time. In the mean time...enjoy the fruits and nuts.
