    A wonderful day at Natural Bridge State Park

    Kentucky is probably one of the most, if not at least,as, beautiful as any place in this country. Today the wife and I enjoyed a 10 mile hike in the park. So, I thought I would take some pics as we went along and let you guys share the scenes.

    A sign at the lodge with a few warnings;

    Off we go;

    There was more to see, but not enough room to post it.
    Hope all here had a wonderful Fathers day!

    I don't really know. I just exposed that pic on purpose to show what I was packing for the benefit of readers here. I conceal it as a matter of preference regardless of what the rules allow.

    I would want to carry as well , with the possibility of running into the boogey man or a bear .

    Yeah! That's why I took that. In my pack I had plenty of water, space blanket, 2 fire producing articles, GPS, energy bars, knife, and 2 loaded spare 45 ACP mags.

    You just never know what could happen. But you would be surprised at people hiking in flip flops, no hat, and no emergency equipment.

    The idiots who go out unprepared! Your bag's contents emulate mine.

    Even within Phoenix city limits, there are mountain trails that are challenging and not for the lame. Yet within the past two weeks - since the onset of 105+ temps - we've had nearly daily rescues of people who collapse in the heat because they brought a 16-oz bottle of water for a 2-hour hike. At least two fatalities in the same time span.

    And they're the first ones who need rescued.

    105 is cooking. Today it was 82. But later in the summer we have temps up to and over 100 with high humidity.
