Update on mom.
Well, I'll try keep it brief. Mom's blood sugar is better, blood pressure is better but still needs to come down and stay down. She feels nauseated and doesn't feel like eating( possibly due to the cocktail of meds she is getting?) She gets a little confused of an evening. The nurses say it is in all possibility sun downers syndrome. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers everybody, please keep it up. He doctor wants to go to a rehab center to improve her leg and back strength after discharge.

Thanks for the update. I'm still confused as to what could be causing the blood sugar issues, tbh.

Glad to hear your Mom is doing better.
It's not easy to watch our parents health falter.
Lost my Mom in 1990 and Dad died in '04. I miss them every day.
I'll keep your Mom in my prayers.

Saw this thread then the original.
Glad she is getting help, you only get one mom.
My dad was diagnosed with Diabetes @ the age of 72.
He was loosing weight left and right, wouldn't go to the doctors and told my sister, "Ahh, I'm an old man , I dying of something, probably cancer, don't worry."
She calls me in tears and says dads sick and won't go to the doctors.
I call him and say "what's up"?
He says "nothing".
I tell him what my sister says he told her, and he says, "yeah so what"?
I tell him, "well, you thought you were a goner when you had your heart attack @ 59, and only had one grandchild at the time ( my first born son), and now you have eight. Why don't you go to the doctor and find out what's ailin' you"?
He says "well that was awhile ago."
Then I proceeded to tell him "well you know how stupid your gonna look laying in a casket dead of something that was curable"?
He says" I'll think about it"
My sister called back about an hour later and said," well, I don't know what you told him, but he told mom to call and make an appointment with a doctor".
He , up until he died in 2010, at 79 gave himself insulin shots, figuring out the right amounts to administer, and tried watching his diet, save for his nightly bowl of ice cream. A Big bowl of ice cream I might add.
His running joke was, "Hey, the doctor said I could have a bowl of ice cream a night if I wanted to".
Trust me when I say it was a Jethro bowl.
He even lived long enough to see a ninth grandchild born, My son, in 2004.
Good luck, prayers sent, and hope things balance out for your mom.
Hopefully she will realize there is a lot in life worth sticking around for
