    "freedom!"

Proverbs 22:7 The rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is slave to the lender.

This verse has been stuck in my head ever since Mrs. Stove and I took the Financial Peace course at our church about 5 years ago. Have worked long and hard since to get out of debt (with a few (dozen) gun purchases aside) and finally did it!

    Paid off the mortgage today!!

In the words of William Wallace -

That's fantastic! Congratulations! We'll never get there but we have a 3.65 interest rate so we're good with that.

It's very impressive that you've paid off your mortgage!
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Good for you, man. Thats a very big deal, especially in todays economic times.

You know, I remember when I was a boy, how churches would preach that "debt was slavery". They were right, too.

That's great! We have worked hard to pay off our debt. The only debt we have left is the mortgage. We're looking forward to the day it is paid off.

That is truly wonderful! I remember the feeling - like suddenly losing 50 pounds off of your shoulders. Almost floating.

Then, building some savings to assist in staying out of debt as a way of life is the "way to go"!

I know the end of Braveheart is sad but I wanted to use the same track that Dave Ramsey uses. Had we not taken that course we would not be in the position we are today.

    I can't tell ya'll how stoked I am!!!
