For Us that have lost a Father..

I woke up this morning with a heavy heart missing my Dad. It's been 5 years since his passing.

This Rodney Crowell song sums it up for me. I hope it brings a calm to your Heart.

Already had a moment this morning when someone showed me a video of the Celtic Women doing Amazing Grace with bagpipe accompaniment... and now you went and did it again.

Lost my dad the day after Memorial Day last year.

I lost my Dad in '92. It was 2 years before I could talk about it without losing it. I'm losing it now.

I lost my Dad 7:45am, October 24th, 2012. I started to call him this morning when I learned that a friend of ours had a heart attack.

    I just miss him.

Been 2 years and 2 months. If I have a good day in the woods or at the range my mind wanders to the phone call before I remember. Not gonna listen to the you tube but I appreciate the notion. It's raining here, all day. I'll be at the loading bench so I'll get to play w some of his toys. Funny though; whether its his Dillon 550 or the 35 Rem lever with the Williams iron sights, I continue to be happily surprised at his wisdom. He keeps getting smarter even though he's gone. I can only hope to get that good.

I lost my father in August of 1949. I was 2 and have no recollections of him at all. Grew up not missing a dad because I didn't know any better. A long about age 40, when I realized that I really didn't have all the answers to life, I began to understand how nice it would have been to have dad around to bounce things off of and get his perspective on them. The grief had finally set in, I guess.
Cherish those moments and memories; I envy you.

I can't begin to fathom some of the feelings and emotions that some of you are feeling. My father ran out on me and my mom when I was born. I never had a father in the home until I was 14 when my mom met my now step-dad. I worry about him everyday. He is not in the best of health and begin to almost tear up at the thought of him or my mom leaving this life. I know it is a fact of life but it's a part of this life I wish that I wouldn't have to experience. You all have my condolences to the passing of your fathers and to that one guy who's friend just had a heart attack.

I lost my dad when I was in high school. I am the youngest of four and envied the time my siblings spent with him as adults. I didn't get that and was mad at him for many years for leaving me. It took me many years to get over that. I still miss him. My mom is 92 now and not in great health, but considering that has buried three husbands, I suppose she's doing all right.
I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck, but my lawyer thinks he can get me five.

Lost my Dad in 2007 I was able to spend the last two weeks saying all the things I wanted to say. I miss him every day and try to live my life to the ethos he passed on to me.

My Dad died in 2004 and I miss him every day.

I inherited all of his research and picked up where he left off.

I have finished what he started - and even took it to greater heights.

    I love you, Dad.

Lost my Dad in 1973, I was lucky in that I was stationed at McDill at the time and was able to spend some time with him before he passed, to this day I still miss him.

It's true enough ..........both my parents are gone and not a day goes by that I don't think of them both......if you still have them, take a minute out of your life and tell them how much you love them......you'll be glad you did later on.

I lost my Dad on Mothers day, 2000. Some days, it still doesn't seem real. I credit him for me being the man I am today. Never will a day go by that he won't be in my thoughts and my heart.
