Skysoldier update
Well I went in Monday and the Doc decided to do biopsys before he did the operation it was worring him he couldn't find the cause of the neck cancer. After rumminging around inside he finally found the cause a tiny sore on the back of my tongue that he couldn't find with the scopes (Been a pipe smoker for 20years) he tolld me I was better off now that 2 days ago because he could now go in and get it all at one time and I shouldn't need chemo or radition after. So today I have to go get a feeding tube put in my stomach and the big operation is on again for Monday the 23d. The Doc said I will need to learn to swallow again and have some speach problems till I learn to talk again but my odds went up by 50% so hell I'll take whatever upgrades hes got. The worst part of this whole thing was finally admitting to myself I was scared which is a little hard for an old soldier to admit to himself but now I have come to terms with it I am ready to get it done. I do apoligze for taking up so much space on the forum but its so much easier sometimes to vent on here than around home where everyone is worring about me so much and you guys have been great.
Thanks again
Sky

Thanks for sharing the good news and the fear. Keep us informed. You will continue in my prayers.
I have over the past 14 or 15 months mentioned several times that CC reminds me of a fictional place that was noted for being the place where: "Joy shared is increased and pain shared is lessened." I hope that sharing your pain with us has lessened it.

Thanks for the update. As for being scared, I understand that completely. In my opinion it is much easier to deal with a threat that is out where you can see it and deal with it. This is something you can't kill on your own. And you have let someone else deal with it.
We will be here praying and pulling for you.

Thx for the update and indeed fear not about taking up space. I can't better describe this place than George did ...
where "Joy share is increased and pain shared is lessened."
We'll be thinking of you and hope the proceedure goes OK with good results.

Hey, vent away! I had a mild brush with skin cancer a few months ago that sure got MY attention. Hang tough and let us know how it's going. We'll be here.....

My heart went to hell and slowed down so I had to have an emergency pace maker put in. The heart doctor did not like my blood white count. He sent me to a oncologist/ hemotologist (cancer/blood) specialist who said I had lymphatic leukemia. I worried so much I developed a bleeding ulcer and nearly died. I went to my old family doc of 25 years. He was furious. He said he had known about my white count since 1995 and it was something I would probably out live. He said he would not have put a label on it and to not worry. He fixed my ulcer and now I am doing fine. You sound as though you are doing well. Just don't worry yourself into further problems. The mind is a strong detrement and a strong help. Just keep it positive. My white count is stabilized and we keep watch on it. If it goes haywire I will go for chemo. I had planned on beiing shot by the jealous husband of a 25 year old when I was 90 but my wife would probably beat him to it.

I know a little bit of what you're going through...
Hang in there...
You are in this family's thoughts and on the CC Forum prayer list!
