The call no one wants to hear

Staff Sergeant David W, from Kansas, part of the Stryker Brigade from Ft. Lewis stationed in Iraq, was on patrol this past saturday when his vehicle hit a roadside bomb. Vehicle was torn up pretty bad. All crew members are alive, but hurt pretty bad. David has sustained spine injuries, lots of cuts and bruises from the explosion. I asked his wife about the others, she did not know much. His mother and sister seem to be taking it pretty good, but I know they are hurting inside. If anyone out there has a spare prayer, or a favor due them by god, please use it on this young man. How do I know about this? He is my son. David

My sincerest sympathy. May he have a full and speedy recovery.
A man fires a rifle for many years, and he goes to war. And afterward he turns the rifle in at the armory, and he believes he's finished with the rifle. But no matter what else he might do with his hands - love a woman, build a house, change his son's diaper - his hands remember the rifle.

I am hurting for you - and pray recovery is speedy for David.

I daily go thru this - me, just an outsider lookin in but - but each and every ''instance'' has me imagining it could be my son. The rest is easy, relatively.

All the ''boys'' out there are in my heart all the time.

Best thoughts with him , prayers sent as best i can . As a neighbor over here in Colorado , if there is anything at all that we can do please let us know and we will . Also thank him for his service when you get a chance , and thank you for having a son who will serve . Be well and you will be in our prayers with our higher powers .

I'm really sorry to hear this and I hope he recovers fully. We hear these stories on the news and can't help feel bad for all involved. When we hear it is someone known to a friend, especially a son, it makes it all the more saddening. Hoping for a full and speedy recovery and as others here have said, thank him for his service from all of us here.....
