    Brain surgery on turkey-day

So my wife decided to surprise me around noon yesterday by collapsing in the kitchen, vomiting, and rambling deliriously. Luckily, my friends rushed over (one of whom is a flight surgeon/ER Dr.) and we rushed her off to the hospital via ambulance.

What followed was a frightening barrage of information and images.

After a CAT scan it was determined my wife had suffered a sub-cranial hemorrhage, and the blood was putting pressure on her brain.

The operated to relieve the pressure and found a knot of malformed veins which had decided to burst, seemingly without provocation.

24 hours later she is recovering, but the whole ordeal is a scary one, and we are not out of the woods yet.

Please keep my wife in your thoughts.

    Thanks,
    Brennan

    Whoa!

What a way to spend the holiday. You are your wife will be in our thoughts and prayers. Good luck, I hope all goes well.

First, my best wishes for her to have a speedy recovery.

These things are remarkably common. Something very similar happened to my nephew when he was about 10 years old. Fortunately, thanks to great neurosurgeons and the then brand new invention, MRI, he survived without any impairment whatsoever. I wish the same complete recovery to your wife.
