Thumbs up Forum member A1C Lickey in Iraq

I got an Email from Kurt (A1C Lickey) yesterday letting me know that he had been deployed in Iraq. I asked him if he would like me to forward his e-mail to Bumper so that members could send him a message. he wrote me a message back stating that that would be great! I will do that as soon as I get finished with this message.
I met Kurt during a training session that we had up here in Flagstaff AZ, and we have kept in touch ever since. I'm glad that I met him(and his wife briefly) through this forum, he's a stand-up guy and a great example of the men and women of our armed forces. If you are so inclined, send him an e-mail and let him know that we are thinking about him!!

I am guessing we can email him via the profile menu?

Just hate to see this go down the list folks. I sent him an e-mail through the site link, and hope it arrives. Show your support, and thanks to the OP. It's the first e-mail I've sent out to our fellow countrymen overseas since Christmas.

I got his email changed in his member record so people can send him email through the forum. If you want to send it to him directly, you can send it to kurtvijay at gmail.com. I have broken the link here so he doesn't get bogged down with spam. I'm sure he'll appreciate the mail.

I recieved an e-mail fron Kurt today, sounds like he's doing good!!

    Hi Everyone-

I'm safe and sound, here in Iraq. Not much to talk about. It's muddy, windy, dusty and busy. And no, I don't know how it can be both muddy and dusty at the same time, but somehow this place still manages it. The food's alright here, unfortunately we've been on water restrictions since I got here. At first it was combat showers, and then we moved on to complete water restriction. (Read as- no showers, no laundry, no non-DFAC food...) Now we're down to heavy water restrictions (combat showers every other day, limited laundry, limited non-DFAC food). I don't know about you guys, but I think something must be very wrong when you look foward to a combat shower with cold water.

Speaking of which today is shower day!

I'm really busy just about every day, in fact I just had my first day off. If you were curious we are working five and ones.

    Kurt
