Thumbs up Prayers and wish me luck (its good,..I got a new job)

    Wish us luck,everybody!!!

I'm 21,engaged. My fiancee works parttime and will be starting college summer semester,..She has been putting her resume out for some positions "fishing" and had a really good interview for a store management position at Dominos,...They told her they are going to conduct a backround check, wich (to me) seems like a god thing.

AND: I just got the best job I've ever recieved. The VP of a local carwash/quicklube actually seeked me out for the position of shop manager of the quick lube,...Pretty straight on money (market of 40K/yr)...bear in mind I'm still in college (parttime) and rent a house,currently...I'm going from making under 30k a year to this,...

This position as a TRAINEE for my fiancee she will be making 45k/yr,so things would work out BEAUTIFULLY for our marriage plans (sep 13th) and getting out of debt to get our first house.

So with all this new found fortune you can celebrate by buying ME a new Glock.

Congrats. Sounds like a safer job than the one you previously had.

Previously had? I'm currently (until last day, doh.) a service writer,...so I'll be actually in the shop more, doing oil changes and the like, but also more desk time, making schedules,etc....Its in a slightly 'rougher' side of town. Race isn't an issue, but it will be very different as its in a mainly african american side of town (theres a "black college" right near it.) but its an area I've been through/hung out a million times in my life. Its just as far from my house as the current job BUT it stinks b/c the roads going there are 35mph zones, got ALOT of lights. Scooter is a thought.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I'm so unbelieveably excited b/c its al ocally owned place, have roughly 5 locations, and the owner will be selling to the managers in a couple years,...so realistically I could own it in a few years.

OH,also forgot to mention thats my salary + bonus :)

Ooops. Sorry. Confused you with someone else on the forum. This old age think stinks. Now where did I put that ammo?

In any case, best of luck.

Congrats to your both. Sounds like you are on your way.

Work hard and you will both be rewarded.

Best wishes and have a great wedding.

Congrats on the job and the upcoming wedding. VSU is pretty cool, I've done several jobs down there and the students were always friendly. As for the neighborhood just off campus I agree, some of the area is on the shady side, not quite as bad as southside Richmond, but not the best place to be unarmed.
