My sister's dog
My sister's dog recently had oral surgery for an abscess. The surgery was successful but the veterinary hospital used a heated blanket for the dog after the anesthesia.
The dog is a miniature chihuahua (it's really, really small.) The dog now has critical burns over 70% of its body and is taking antibiotics and pain medication. The cause of the blisters was not even determined for almost a week after the surgery.
Please pray for my sister and her dear dog, Gypsy.

I'm so sorry.
It's amazing how attached we are to our pets and how important they become in our lives. We'll keep your sister and Gypsy in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry to hear, you would think that the vet would know better than to leave an anesthetized animal on a electric blanket.
God bless our troops!

Our family (Twinkie included) will be praying for Gypsy and your sister. Twinkie is our teacup chihuahua currently playing part time mother of three kittens.

Document everything and make it clear there'll be a lawsuit if the dog doesn't make it. Nothing like a clear incentive to get good results. Terrible way to treat a little dog.

For some reason, I find it easier to pray for animals than to pray for most humans.

There's a reason for that. Animals are innocent. They have no capability to do evil.

Not much change. Gypsy is, at least, eating a little and drinking. Unfortunately, the recovery is going to be long and slow. The most important thing is to prevent infection. Hopefully, the antibiotics will do their job as the old skin comes off and the new skin grows.

Attention and love can go a long way....
I had a dog who got parvo, and the VET gave her absolutely no chance at all in surviving... she got bad really quick. She was losing fluids so quick from the front and back... non-stop... and they said even an IV would not work.
I didn't give up so easily. I stayed up with that dog about 3 days / nights non-stop.... and she didn't want to take any water. So, I used a syringe (no needle) and spoon, to almost constantly get some water into her. Every bit counted. Meds to 'try' to get the flow of everything going out to stop.
She tried to take that water, only because it was 'me' giving it to her.... and after 24 hrs the outflow stopped, and she gradually began to try to lick water off the spoon, then more.. then more... and at the end of the 3rd day... she was drinking and recovering. That was the first night I got any sleep at all. I never left her side the entire time.
She survived it. After that, she would never leave my side for anything. My wife said... I had loved her back from the dead. The Vet agreed... it was the "bond" we had that got her to do anything.... or to even try.
Whatever it was... we had a tight bond, and she survived and lived for many years past that.
Hope all goes well. Keep the faith.
