    Sad News...

    Fox News reported this morning...

Tony Snow died last night...this guy was a great WH rep (Press Secretary) who could really turned the tables on reporters...always cool, calm, and collected.
Work at Fox news before taking the White House position.
He was only 53 and left behind 3 children. I always was impressed with his 'golden tongue'...sad news, for sure...he will be missed by many!

I thought he had it licked, I am assuming the cancer was back; I haven't seen the news yet.

He was a good guy, at least as far as I could tell from his reporting.

Tony Snow was always one of my favorites. A real talent for cutting through the crappola.

    He'll be missed.

    He was a real gentleman!

I really enjoyed watching him in each of the roles that he took during his much too short career.

He dealt with his cancer like everything else, with humor, dignity and a fierce will to live. Too bad he couldn't win that battle.

    He will be sorely missed.

May he rest in peace and my heart goes out to his Wife and Children.

Tony was a great guy for sure. I loved the way he held the press to the fire as the WH press secretary.

What is sad is two soldiers died yesterday...and the amount of air time and recognitions for their sacrifice and service can be found as a flippant soundbite. But a famous news person passing needs all day glorification.

While I agree with your thoughts on the two U.S. Soldiers who died not getting airtime, I don't think you are comparing apples to oranges here.

Totally different scererios. Snow was a man who was in the public eye for a great number of years, and one who was endearing to the American public at large. The news stories of his passing, and the kind remarks that have followed from all over the country are not 'glorification', they are simply reflections of the public's admiration for the man and the way he presented himself during his career.

On a personal note, the high profile reporting of men much younger than myself passing from their battle with cancer is bound to have a sobering effect on those currently fighting, or in remission from various forms of cancer. I know it does with me. I've been in remission for a little over 18 months after 40 radiation treatments for Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am scheduled for full body scans every 6 months and the next series will be during the first week of August. News like Tony Snow passing sure does make me apprehensive while waiting for the scans, and then the results a week later.

Good guys lost a great news man. Tony was full of integrity and optimism! Played a mean flute and 5 other instruments.

Watched him for years on Fox News Sunday and Weekend Live. Anchored the news unscripted, he was very talented and could think on his feet! I loved how he shot down Helen Thomas and others at the White House.

Waged a valiant battle with cancer and courageous to the end!

A great loss to the media world. I will miss him!

    Rest in Peace Mr. Snow!
