Message From Lou Alessi & Post Get Well! & Prayers For Lou

I just got off the phone with Lou who is still in the hospital and will probably remain there for another week. He has a serious staph infection (not mrsa) as a result of his surgery for lung cancer. This has been a bad year for Lou starting with the diagnosis of lung cancer in February followed by a few surgeries and now the infection. He asked me to tell everyone Thanks from the bottom of his heart for all the get well's and inquiries about his health and to apologize to those waiting for a holster. He will probably be away from the shop for an unknown time but Mary Lou and his daughter are there trying to catch up with cutting out leather and sewing to await Lou's final process and forming. He is in great spirits and we spoke for a good half hour and believe me he is tired of hospitals and doctors and cannot wait to get back to work. Please keep up the prayers and well wishes as he really appreciates them. He doesn't have access to a computer and I'll try to keep everyone updated on his progress as I speak with him. Thanks again, Lou is a good friend of my wife and I and as anyone who has ever dealt with him knows a true gentleman!
    Mike

I have never had the honor of owning an Alessi holster. I wish him the best of luck in his healing and my thoughts and prayers are with him.

Lou needs to get his rest and not even think about going back to his shop until he's ready.

ANYONE who thinks that their holster order is more important than Lou's health doesn't deserve their holster in the first place.

I'll be honored to keep the Alessis in my prayers.

    +1

I'll glady and patiently wait for my bodyguard until his health is back to 100%.

Lou, you and your family are in my prayers.

I "chatted" by E-mail with Mr. Alessi by E-mail a couple of times. He came across as every bit the likable gentleman that the guys that know him report. Pass along the word on the prayers for his recovery!

Ditto, from here. Never met the man, but never heard an unkind word directed his way.

    Prayers up.

He will be in my prayers. My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer at age 80, having smoked heavily since childhood. She had surgery to have a lobe of her left lung removed, and the post op CT scan showed something. The radiologist didn't make much of it, but the surgeon did, and she went back to surgery a few days later to have a lobe of her right lung removed. It turned out that the surgeon was right. My mom stopped smoking, and is now 87, and still doing well. Early diagnosis and treatment are the keys. Of course, the type of cancer plays a big part, but finding it early gives you the best chance. I hope he does well.
