Sometimes I wonder who the old man in the mirror is....

Lord, Grant me a good sword and no need to use it.

Prayers sent. My two sons are now grown up, but we had a few incidents in the past. Hope everything goes well!

Great parenting. No point to rubbing salt in the wound. You can bet your eldest will spend the rest of his life diligently guarding his younger brother's welfare.

Glad it turned out as I guessed it would. Nice gash, but they always look worse than they really are. And a tiny battle scar is good too. It is a daily reminder to be a little more cautious.

Wow, my Dad lost his right eye that way when he was a kid.

Prayer sent for a quick recovery and a thanks that it wasn't worse.

When I was a boy, my brother ran into me with his bike and I ended up with stitiches right in the middle of my chest. I hope you boy is well. Certainly, my prayers for you and your family.

He is going to hear lots of crap from friends about how much it hurts to get those sutures taken out. Let him know now that it won't be a big deal and the people who tell him it is awful are exaggerating. He doesn't need to be walking around for 10 days worrying about that part.

And make sure he keeps the area dry for a couple of days. Let your wife wash his face with a damp towel, avoiding the area, and let him wash the rest himself with a damp towel. If he was given an antibacterial ointment to apply to the suture line, use it.

All in all, yesterday was your family's lucky day. No real damage; lessons learned by both kids; and your extra gray hair now can be easily explained away. Sounds like a fair deal all in all.

Kids are a life sentence. Just think of what lies ahead--- teaching them to drive.

Bless you for your kindness and tenderness to the eldest as well as your care to the younger. You're a good dad. I thank God it has gone OK and wasn't worse.

Praying - a little late, perhaps, but looks like others picked up the slack...
