My Son, Stephen (he's 18) and is my youngest, has had 2 bouts with a collapsed lung in the past 2 months. is curently a senior at Pinkerton Academy in Derry Nh, currently Deputy Cadet Commander of the USAF JrROTC program there, rank of Major and has Congressonal and Senatorial Nomination for the Naval Academy in Maryland. He's currently at Boston Childrens' Hospital, due for surgery either Tuesday Dec 9 at 07:30 or Wednesday Dec 10 07:30 The Drs say it's pretty simple, but as all of you know, nothing is simple in the OR. Reason being, he's HIGHLY SENSITIVE to the Anestiesia<SP> and we almost lost him, when he had his tonsils and adnoids removed when he was only a couple yrs old.
Most of you know me as being pretty active on the Forum, but due to pressing life issues, I've only been able to come here when time has permitted me.
If you could, just keep him in your thought son these two days.
God bles you all

While people are saying "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly, ... and they will not escape. 1Th 5:3
Prayers goin up for Stephen and the family.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
Knee mail is quicker than email. Prayer for you son and family.

I'll be in prayer for guidance of the DR's hands and a speedy recovery. The Bible says that a group of believers is to gather in prayer for one of their own. I'll make sure my pastor knows to pray about it too.
You got it Bob!

Prayers for the family heading your way. The great thing about Jesus is that we can count on him for the heavy lifting once it's out of our hands or control.
EDIT: Kneemail, that's a new one. I'm stealing it for SS :)

I want to offer you this thought, which I think you will find encouraging. Lots of surgery is fairly straight forward, simple, and could be done by almost anyone with just a little training. Don't worry about it. It will go well. We all tend to have a much overblown and exaggerated idea about the talent, skill set, and knowledge involved in general surgery. (I'm not saying that some procedures aren't very difficult or risky; just that most stuff is straight forward.
As for the anesthesia, there have been many changes in the medicines used over the years. An 18 year old doesn't have the risks a young child has. Just be sure to visit with the anesthesiologist and relate the earlier experience so that s/he is aware of it. Your surgeon can and should arrange the meeting well ahead of the procedure.
Stay cool. It will work out.

Much thought, reflection, and prayers for his successful surgery.
We will definitely be praying for your son. Please keep us posted.
You got it, Bob. He'll have a lot of people rooting for him.

Done for your Son and your entire family
A real man loves his wife, and places his family as the most important thing in life. Nothing has brought me more peace and content in life than simply being a good husband and father.
