    Disarming in Hawaii

I'm off to Hawaii to get married. Some of you may already know that Hawaii is not a CCW friendly state. So, if I don't return to DC.com some time in the first week of June, please scour the headlines to see if we became a victim in HI.

I'm not terribly stressed about it. I'll have my knife, my flashlight, and my gray matter between the ears to keep us out of trouble. Besides, it's tough to snuba and carry a Glock.

We'll see Pearl Harbor on Friday - I wonder if they'll have any special Memorial Weekend festivities going on?

Then off to Maui and Kauai.

Anyway, I better get to helping the woman finish packing so we can get out of here or I'll be going by myself. We are off to a hotel down by the airport tonight and then fly out at 7:30am.

See ya folks in 2 weeks Stay safe!!

Going to Hawaii to get married is an extremely dangeroug thing to do, but then, getting married in ANY state is dangerous.

Getting married isn't really all that dangerous.

    Congratulations.

Every man ought to try it once in his life, getting married. I liked it so much I attached myself permanently to Mrs. Biker.

You should always have the grey matter between your ears as your first line of defense. The gun is only a tool. Be careful with the knife laws in HI. My expirience with the pacific rim, and the various countries, is that many places have laws forbidding what is common custom and practice here in the mainland.

Come back and put up pictures, lots of PICS, of the scenery.

Hope you have a lot of fun out here, there is lots to do. Pearl Harbor is a great experience to go have.

Dog sightings do happen occassionally, and I havent been hit with any paintballs of death yet while going about my business off base.

Congrats on getting hitched, take in the islands, I'm sure they are a great place to visit for a few weeks at a time.

    Thank you everyone!

Well we made it back and are now hitched. Couldn't have had a better time unless we'd have had more time and money to spend there.

First two days were on Oaho where we stayed on Waikiki beach. We went to Pearl Harbor on Memorial Weekend and I managed to get a killer picture of the retired Mighty Mo and the U.S. Flag that is National Geography quality. I submitted it to a magazine so we'll see what happens before posting it here. It was a very sobering experiance to be there and really made me miss my days in the service.

From there we went to Maui for three days. We took a charter boat out to the Molokini crater for some snorkeling and snuba (not scuba but close). The Luau was very intertaining and I managed a couple cool photo affects with the fire dancing. Made it to the top of Haleakala National Park and the dormant volcano followed by our sunset wedding on a private beach.

From there we were off to four days on Kauai with more snorkling, swimming with the sea turtles, a trip to 'secret beach', drive to the top of Waimea canyon, horseback ride to bottom of a waterfall, and a little bit of grilling and relaxing at a private condo.

Thanks again for all the congrats. Sorry I didn't miss you folks more but it was great to get away from the cell phone, computers, news, politics, etc.. I have about 650 photos to sort through and then I'll see about getting a couple posted here in the days to come.

Congratulations! May you live long, laugh often and love more every day.
