I am sorry to hear this, but at least Hospice will take very good care of your father, and as you said -- he's not suffering. Thoughts and prayers with you and your family.

Sorry to hear that; Just remember through your prayers, that your father is going to a better place, this is only a transition to getting there.

My prayers are with you and your family.
Times like this are never easy. It just hurts too bad.

I deal with various hospices quite a bit. They are fabulous organizations who are a tremendous blessing to families and friends.
Hate to need 'em. Glad to have 'em when needed.

    God bless.

Thanks all! Dad passed at 7:45 this morning and I was blessed to be with him when he went. He's in a better place than any of us and hopefully we will all have the opportunity to join our loved ones sometime in the future. Thanks so much for your prayers.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

    My condolences Sarge.

    And if I go,
    while you're still here...
    Know that I live on,
    vibrating to a different measure
--behind a thin veil you cannot see through.
    You will not see me,
    so you must have faith.
I wait for the time when we can soar together again,
    --both aware of each other.
Until then, live your life to its fullest.
    And when you need me,
Just whisper my name in your heart,
    ...I will be there.

"He went on two legs, wore clothes and was a human being, but nevertheless he was in reality a wolf of the Steppes. He had learned a good deal . . . and was a fairly clever fellow. What he had not learned, however, was this: to find contentment in himself and his own life. The cause of this apparently was that at the bottom of his heart he knew all the time (or thought he knew) that he was in reality not a man, but a wolf of the Steppes."
