    Footprints in the Sand

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
    when I was suffering from
    anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,
    "You promised me Lord,
    that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
    there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?"

    The Lord replied,
    "The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
    is when I carried you."

Fifteen years ago, they said my Dad had six months to live. He just celebrated his 89th birthday. Modern medicine is incredible.

Several years ago my cousin had a lump under his chin. He even went so far as to name it and jokingly called it his "little cancer." He had had it about 3 years. (stupid i know) When he did have it removed and tested, sure enough, it was cancer. He went through the treatments and everything and still to this day is cancer free. Hang in there. Be strong for her. This thing can be beat!

Stay Strong and take it one day at a time...otherwise it will seem overwhelming. You are both in our prayers.

I pray that God will give you wisdom for the hard realities, words for the times you seek to comfort, and strength to endure. I pray that God will heal your girlfriend, for nothing is too difficult for God, and I pray ultimately that God would be glorified and your relationships with Him would be strengthened. In Jesus' name - Amen.

I'll keep you both in my prayers. Keep us posted.

Thank you for your support. So young, fighting for her life, Shes got an army behind her of prayer...
Do yourself a favor: Learn EVERYTHING you can about the type she has. My second wife had an extremely rare cancer, we started out a meeting with one oncologist, telling HIM what we knew about it, and which tests he'd need to see. If anyone says "This will not be what kills you", he might be right, but find a new doctor, ASAP.

Look into Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt lake City, or the Cancer Treatment Center chain of hospitals. DO NOT assume some smaller hospital has experience with what you're facing. My wife's cancer was found in only 0.03% of THAT type, and it was one of the rarest types there is. So our problem is that 99.999% of doctors had never seen what she had.

You can guess her outcome. Not to bring you down, but with luck, and prayer, you will have a good outcome. She once told me she didn't actually fear dying, as long as she knew SOMEONE, somewhere, was beating theirs.

I found this a couple of days ago, I can't seem to keep you on the phone long enough to talk to you about it.

I know we haven't talked about her in a while, I didn't know it was still getting at you man. I thought she was doing better. We need to catch up. Please call me

I hope she beats the cancer. My prayers are with you and her I've had it twice and am finally free of it. The doctors have a lot more to work with these days.
